Santa Newton - Inky Paws Challenge 60

HI everyone and Happy Holidays!
We are halfway thru the current
INKY PAWS CHALLENGE
This challenge is all about the sparkle.

Who does not love sparkle in their life?
I know I do, and I have a draw full of glitter to prove it!
I love non-traditional colors for the holidays.
I especially love “Grinch” like colors.

Santa Newton a card by Diane Morales| Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set by Newton Nook Designs

This card started with a background using the
“Snowfall Stencil”, white paper and some Versamark Ink.

Tape the stencil down to white paper. Apply the Versamark ink,
peel away the stencil, apply clear embossing powder, and heat set.

Next, the background colors. I smashed them down and added just a little water to the ink.

Smash your embossed snowflakes into the color and let that dry.

When that is dry, I painted on a layer of Glossy Accents mixed
with a TINY bit of water to spread smoothly.

This layer must dry completely!
When that is dry, we add the fun layer.
Take Frosted Lace” Stickles” and squirt it all over the top.
I used my finger to spread it around and cover the snowflakes.

This layer takes AWHILE TO DRY!
While I was waiting, I stamped “Newton Santa”
from the “Santa Paws Newton Stamp set”.
I colored in the image with coordinating colors from my background.
Attached the two together, and I was done!
Now it is your turn to add sparkle to your next project.
Don’t forget to Link up using the Link in the Challenge Picture above.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you have an amazing week

Hey everyone!
Coming to you today with a Little card for the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Just recently I was waiting for my computer to update.
So, like most people, I was messing around killing time.
I looked over to my scrap pile.
I got to thinking if I could do something
with the leftover paper that had be accumulation in the bin.
I was feeling real crafty and I had a lot of time on my hands I came up with this.

Tiny Little Card a card by Diane Morales. | Stamps by Newtons Nook Designs

I call it a Lipstick card.
Started with a 2 x 4 1/4 strip of paper.
To that I added leftover strip of embossed paper trimmed to size.
On top of that I added one of my favorite NEW stamps.
“Santa Paws Newton” Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs.

I colored in my stamp, added a little “snow”
and finished the card with some white Nuvo Drops to add some flair.
I even made tiny envelope for my card.

This was a lot of fun and... I killed time waiting for the update.
Hope you enjoyed my card.
I hope it encourage you to dig in the scrap pile and see what you come up with.
Hope everyone has a awesome week.
See You Soon!

Diane

Inky Paws Challenge 60 - Sparkle!

Welcome everyone to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
This challenge is near and dear to everyone.
Sparkle!

The idea came about when I was stuck in bed,
with a case of pneumonia, watching way too many Marvel Movies.
As you may, or may not know, everything is pretty much set in New York.
So, I got to thinking, and came up with this card.

Sparkle with joy and happyness a card by Diane Morales| Snow Globe Scene Stamp Set | Newton Nook Designs

I LOVE the idea of the buildings in these stamps sets together.
The larger buildings is from Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set.
The smaller buildings are from the NEW Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set
My add on of sparkle came from Brushed Pewter Distress Stain on the windows.
Tarnished Brass Distress Stain for the accents.
The background, behind the buildings I used the large snowflake from
the NEW Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set with Tsukineko White Shimmer Pigment ink.
I added in Santa, because as a kid I always wondered
how Santa got over the buildings to deliver presents.

When I finished the card, I felt it did not have enough bling!
I added some Rose Gold Stickles to the top of the building.

Its kind of a simple card, but it is a testament to the power
of mixing and matching stamp sets to create something different.

Now it is YOUR turn.

Whisking you a Happy Birthday IPC 58

Hello and welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge
over at Newtons Nook Designs.

For my card today I know that I wanted to use the Made From Scratch Stamp Set
This stamp set is soooo cute, but... I hardly use it. (sad)
My goal was to come up with a card using the sketch above and this set.
I think I did OK.

In my quest for trying to use up all my printed paper (not in this lifetime)
I choose my printed paper first. You never know where inspiration is going to come from,
but the paper led me in the way of the retro feel of the card.
If you know me, you know I love to add texture.
I stamped my sentiment first and then stamped my whisk images around the sentiment.
I did this by just Versamark the whisk image on white paper.
The best think about Versamark is that is never going to be completely clear.
It will always give you image texture with a very slight hint of gray.
To this I added the die cut medallion with my stamped image.
Finally, I place all of this on a Kraft card stock base and I was done.

Now it is your turn, use the inspiration picture
above to link up and show us your creations.
We would love to see what you create.

Winter Friends Tags IPC 59

We are halfway through the current
Inky Paws Challenge
The current challenge has such fun colors to work with.

For this weeks inspiration I decided to something different!

Winter Friends Tags by Diane Morales | Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I actually LOVE to make tags and I should make them more often.
I started with the background for this Tag.

I was messing around with ideas one afternoon and came up with this combo.
Texture Paste, White Distress Paint, and my "Starfield stencil"

This one is simple. Just mix the texture paste with the white paint.
Tape down your stencil  down REAL GOOD to the surface of your choice.
Apply the concotion to the stencil and surface, remove slowly, and let dry.
Warning ! this takes several hours to dry, plan accordingly.
Don't forget to rinse your stencil off immediately after you use it.

With a lot of the surface area of the tag missing,
I assemble the snowy background sandwiched between the two tags.
This will create some stability for the tag.

To the top of the tag sandwich I placed the animals, trees, and sentiment
from the "Serene Silhouette Stamp Set."
When that tag was done, I realized that I had a ton of leftover scraps.
So why not make another tag!

On this tag, I used the "Light Wave" die from
the "Sea Boarders Dies" to make the snowy drifts.
Some of my leftover die cuts and sentiment complete the tag

NOW it is your turn, you have till Friday  November 17th
to get your Paws Inky and Link up your creations.

Thanks so much for taking some time to drop by.
Links to stamps and dies are below.
Have a great week!
