Toucan Do It ! IPC 58

HELLO EVERYONE!
We are at the halfway point in the current
Inky Paws Challenge.

You never know where inspiration is going to come from.
In this case, it came from a very unlikely source.
Washi Tape from My current Newtons Nook Designs order.

There was something about the tape,
I think it was the color, that popped this card idea right into my head.

Toucan do it ! a card by Diane Morales | Tucan Party Stamp Set | by Newtons Nook Designs

I started with an embossing folder from my stash .
Over that, I layered panels using the small leaves from the Toucan Party Stamp Set.
Those leaves are stamped, clear embossed and colored over with
Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to make the leaves pop.

To that I added the colorful toucans, flowers, and sentiment.
I know it's not quite the sketch on hand,
I did choose to tweak it a bit.
But, I am in LOVE with the end result.

Now it is your turn.

Amazing CTD 465

Some of my FAVORITE colors inspired this card for the Color Throwdown.

I been in a craft rut lately.
When I am in a rut, I tend to do simple cards.
When I saw the colors for the challenge,
and decided that I did not want to go the way of Halloween.
Then, the idea for this card flashed into my mind.

Purple is always where that party is at, but too much purple can be where the party was.
So, I decided to balance that out with black as the accent color.
A white card base is a must. As always, we must have a flash of bling.
The stamp set is by Simon Says Stamp (Brush Stroke Messages)
Hope you enjoyed my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Never too Old IPC 57

We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge.
Our current challenge is all about Fall.

I have been in a crafty rut lately.
When I get in these ruts I tend to do simple cards.

Never to Old a card by Diane Morales | Wagon Wishes Stamp Set| Newton Nook Designs

For this card I used the leaves from"Wagon of Wishes" stamp set.
The kitty is from "Newton Antics" Stamp Set
and finally the sentiment is from "Newton Unwinds" Stamp set.
So much for simple.
The leaves at the bottom are masked and stamped,
so I could create a huge pile.
Next, I colored in the leaves with Distress Ink.
Finally, added Newton, which  I fussy cut out.
For this card I stamped my sentiment directly on the card.
I am sure that I could have tweaked this card some more,
but I am just blank right now.
But... don't let my crafty funk discourage you.
Get those Paws INKY!
and
don't be shy!
You can use the inspiration picture above to link up your creations.
We would LOVE to see what you create.

I hope everyone has an amazing week.

Have a Sweet Day a card by Diane Morales| Newton"s Nook Designs| Party Pops Stamp Set

In the begining of my craft  journey, like most, I started out in Scrapbooking.
And... like most people I have a huge stash (I do mean HUGE) of printed paper.
So why not use that stash to good use.
This is a three panel card with the center die cut out.
I want to show off these too cute popsicles from the "Party Pops" Stamp Set.
I took my time and just "procraftinated " with paper and color.
I love the end result and I hope that it give you insperation to join us at the Challenge.
Don't have a Blog, not a problem! You can link up using social media apps as well.
You have till Friday August 11, to win a $20 Credit.

City of Darkness

Hey Everyone!
Totally excited to share this project with you today!
I have recently got into mix media project. Mostly to stretch my craft muscles.
I love the engineering aspect of these projects. It truly makes you think about the project as a whole.
I am super pumped to share this one. This idea just came to me when cooking dinner one day.
When you check it out your probably going to wonder what I was cooking.

There are 3 levels that went into our city of darkness.

Level one was "the city" .

This was make using all Tim Holtz Cityscape Dies, with the exception of the moon.
This is a circle die with a whole lot of Distress Ink.

Level two the "buried cemetery".

Most great city's in the world are built on top of a burial spot of some kind.
Mine is made up of Tim Holtz "village graveyard", and Distress Ink.

Level three (my favorite) "the underworld"

The "dirt" is chunky embossing powder from Michales (thank you stash)
and the irresistible Tim Holtz skulls and bones.
Originally this area was just skull and bones,
but my woodworking husband said that this area needed something
and quickly broke up some scraps of his project to give me "deteriorating coffin parts"
This whole project took two day to complete.
I not sure if that is a long time in the mix-media world.
I know that when I have a solid idea in my head I just keep at it till the project is done.
This is truly one of my favorite project of all time, and was total blast to do.
I hope that you enjoyed my project.

It's Fall IPC 57

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!

We have a new challenge this week
over at Newton Nook Designs.
This one is purrr-fect for the change in the seasons.

When I make cards I often tend to go on the wild side.
For this card I decided to keep it simple.

Loads of Thanks a card by Diane Morales | Wagon Wishes Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

In my mind when you say Fall, I automatically think pumpkins
For this card, Newton has his wagon full of pumpkins
and he is ready to carve them all out!
Everyone knows I am a lover of the Die Cuts.
I started this card by using the "Pick a Pumpkin " die set.
I LOVE these Pumpkins, they are the purr-fect size for the front of this card.
I also used the Newton Stamp from the "Wagon of Wishes" Stamp Set.
I have to admit, I don't know why I did not purchase this Stamp Set
earlier this is such a cute set with really cool stamps.
I finished this card with some paper layering.
I know this a simple card, but sometime simple is good.
This card could easily be duplicated to make into multiple Thanksgiving cards.
Now it is your turn.  Get your Paws Inky!
We want to see your fall themed cards and projects using Newton Nook Stamps
Use the picture above to link up your creations.
As always, thanks for stopping by.

By for now.

Spooky Boxes!

Hey Everyone!
I am coming to you today with a project for the current
 Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
this weeks theme is
Walk on the Dark Side.
Since I am still new to mix media,
I though I would stretch my crafty muscles and  do something real ambitious.

These decor boxes remind me of when I was a kid and you would make dioramas
(or in California you would make Missions)
There is a lot of reverse engineering to making one of these boxes,
and I was not sure if mine was going to look like a hot mess.
But... I had a blast doing this project!
I loved the challenge of this project. It was not stressful at all.
It was very relaxing let my mind go not think about
anything but where to place and glue items,
and making sure that it all makes sense.

All the Tim Holtz Halloween items are so much fun,
you cannot help but to keep creating.
These are my first decor boxes ever.
Since this project was so much fun, there is sure to be more
I hope you enjoyed my little project and it encourage you to try one for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by.

Shake it! IPC 56

Hi Everyone!
We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge.
and I am SO EXCITED to share this project with you.
In case you did not know we have a color challenge currently, with some really fun colors.

I chose to go in a different direction with this project.
For some time I have tried with, NO SUCCESS whatsoever to make a shaker card.
All attempts have lead to epic fails. But.... NOT THIS TIME!

Halloween Shakers by Diane Morales| Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs
Using the colors in the challenge and my Spooky Skeleton Stamp Set, I came up with these shakers.
I am in LOVE with the way these turned out.
Not going to lie, it to me a minute to do the logistics of how to assemble the shakers together.
I'm sure there is a YouTube video somewhere on how to do it, but what fun is that.
Each shaker took maybe a half hour to put together and was a ton of fun to make!

Don't for get to link up your projects on the link in the challenge picture.
You have till Friday October 6th.
We want to see how you get your Paws INKY.
Thanks for stopping by.
